ADVANCED STROKE UNIT ORGANISATION – BETTER IDEAS WORLDWIDE
Dear colleagues, dear friends,
The stroke unit concept started as an idea by enthusiastic strokeologists more than 20 years ago, and has become an impressive success story today. Meanwhile, patients with acute stroke are treated on stroke units all over the world. Several studies have shown that stroke unit care in itself leads to a more favourable outcome in this vulnerable patient population.
We have organised this symposium in Münster with the aim of bringing together stroke experts from different countries and cultures to present and stimulate further improvements for patient care and management. Hot topics like region-specific stroke unit organisation, the ESO stroke unit concept, catheter-based interventions for acute stroke, the economic burden of stroke mimics, and many other aspects will be adressed.
Detailed lectures will be given by carefully selected renowned speakers, with ample time permitted for thorough discussions. As a cultural highlight we will visit the “Kunstmuseum Pablo Picasso Münster” and enjoy a guided tour of this impressive exhibition.
We truly hope that this programme is of interest to you, and we look forward to welcoming you to Münster on June 15th-16th, 2012.
